If a puppy bit - we closed our hand around the mouth and said "NO". Biting was a play stopper. We NEVER played any biting games - even sock tugs. And ALWAYS corrected any biting. And our dogs were always totally safe - even towards children. The most important thing is to ALWAYS, and I do mean ALWAYS correct any biting behaviour in a puppy. In between acting jobs, I will take out a poetry book and memorize a poem or two just to keep my memory sharp. I would avoiud all of this stuff and nonsense in the mirror for the simple reason that if you are doing bad stuff, you are only going to practice bad stuff and keep reinforcing bad stuff. You will eventually need an audience or a coach to be an outside, objective eye who can tell you what you do well and what you need to improve on.
